Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the twenty-third plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was discussed.
The purpose of the adoption of this Law stipulates the elimination of existing problems and shortcomings, gaps in the legislation governing relations related to permanent residence, as well as in connection with the introduction of new legal relations related to the current biometric passport.
Today, the word "propiska" is obsolete, and in the minds of citizens, this term is associated with the concepts of "obstructing", "restricting freedom." In this regard, the concepts of "permanent registration" and "registration at the place of residence" in the legislation are replaced by "registration at the place of permanent residence" and "registration at the place of temporary residence".
The law introduces appropriate amendments and additions to the legislation due to the fact that, on the basis of a presidential decree, a biometric passport was introduced for traveling abroad, the concept of an identification ID card is introduced into a number of laws due to the fact that the concepts used regarding a biometric passport will be applied in the future with an ID-card.
Thanks to the adoption of this Law, uniformity and uniform application of the norms “registration at the place of permanent residence and registration at the place of temporary residence” will be achieved in law enforcement practice, harmonization of the concepts and legal norms enshrined in the legal acts regulating the ID-card.
The law was approved by the senators.
