Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 July, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance were discussed. An exchange of views took place on the current international agenda.

The leaders noted with satisfaction the current dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.

The Presidents separately dwelt on the development of the situation in the Central Asian region in connection with the deterioration of the situation in the northern regions of Afghanistan. An agreement was reached on the continuation of regular contacts and close cooperation between the authorized departments and organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia.
