Leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar Hold Telephone Conversation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 March, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the discussion, the leaders addressed the escalating situation in the Middle East, emphasizing that the emerging conflicts pose a serious threat to regional stability and peace. They expressed deep concern over actions that exacerbate divisions within the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.

It was noted that the immediate cessation of any actions threatening state sovereignty, peace, and public security serves the shared interests of countries in the region.

President Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to the Emir of Qatar for the measures taken to ensure the safety of Uzbek citizens and facilitate their return home.

In turn, the Emir of Qatar thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the friendly conversation, ongoing support, and demonstrated solidarity, as well as for his attention to the development of bilateral strategic relations.
