Leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar Discuss Further Expansion of Strategic Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official working visit to Doha, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The leaders of the two countries discussed deepening strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted practical cooperation between their states.

At the start of the meeting, President Mirziyoyev congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the successful hosting of the second World Summit on Social Development, noting the productivity of interactions and exchanges at various levels.

Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover between the countries has increased by 45 percent, with major investment projects being implemented involving leading Qatari companies.

Special attention is being given to the development of interparliamentary, cultural, and humanitarian ties, as well as the promotion of joint initiatives in the fields of green energy, transport, geology, textile industry, tourism, and infrastructure.

The parties also exchanged views on current international and regional issues, emphasizing their readiness for further expansion of cooperation.
