Laziz Kudratov participates in World Government Summit 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11–12 February, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, took part in the World Government Summit 2025 during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Background: The World Government Summit (WGS) was established in 2013 at the initiative of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Its mission is to shape future models of governance by leveraging innovation and technology to address global challenges. Among the summit’s partners are the UN, World Bank, International Finance Corporation, IMF, OPEC, WTO, Islamic Development Bank, ILO, and the World Economic Forum. Additionally, WGS members include leading international corporations such as VISA, Qualcomm, Google, Amazon, IBM, Mastercard, SAP, Schneider Electric, AWS, Roblox, Dubai Investments, and others.
Speaking at the Future of Economy Forum – The Rise of New Industrial Policy, Laziz Kudratov highlighted Uzbekistan’s key achievements, which have strengthened its position as a regional investment hub, driven economic liberalization reforms, and ensured sustainable growth despite global challenges.
He elaborated on measures to diversify trade partnerships, deepen regional economic integration, advance Uzbekistan’s WTO accession, and develop high-tech industries such as renewable energy, green hydrogen production, IT, infrastructure projects, and free economic zones. Special attention was given to digital transformation, innovation support, and education system modernization.
The minister emphasized Uzbekistan’s investor-friendly environment, including regulatory liberalization, privatization of state assets, and the implementation of e-government initiatives.
On the sidelines of the summit, Laziz Kudratov held talks with UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazroui, as well as with top executives of major regional and international companies. Discussions focused on expanding trade turnover, launching joint investment projects, fostering innovation, and strengthening industrial cooperation.
Overall, both sides acknowledged the high level of trust from UAE businesses and their readiness to expand their presence in Uzbekistan.
