Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan reviewed and approved, in the second reading, a bill aimed at improving road safety.

As part of the country’s large-scale efforts to ensure road safety and create comfortable conditions for all road users, the bill sets norms to prevent vehicles from driving on sidewalks, pedestrian and bicycle paths, as well as green zones located adjacent to these areas (excluding special vehicles).

Additionally, the bill includes provisions on holding individuals accountable for the illegal installation of barriers and other devices that hinder movement on the roadway.

The adoption of this bill will create safe conditions for road users and ensure the free movement of people on the streets. The bill was approved by the lawmakers.
