Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Latvia will not introduce quotas for labor migrants from Uzbekistan, according to Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency.

This issue was discussed in Riga during a meeting between an Uzbek delegation and Latvia’s Minister of Welfare, Uldis Augulis. The Latvian side noted that Uzbek workers have established a strong reputation, with their number in the country already exceeding 4,000.

Latvian authorities also confirmed that labor migrants will receive state protection, ensuring their legal employment and social rights.

Additionally, during the visit, an agreement was signed with the logistics company Kreiss to hire 400 Uzbek truck drivers in 2025. Training centers will be established in Uzbekistan to prepare drivers according to international standards.

Currently, Kreiss employs 3,000 people, including a group of Uzbek drivers.
