Landslide in Qamchiq pass kills several people
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Several people died and injured in the result of landslide at the Qamchiq pass, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
The statement said that the landslide occurred at around 14:00 on 4 May 2016 at Qamchiq pass in Pap district of Namangan region.
Emergency Situations Ministry said that two cars were under the weight of the landslide in the area of the A-373 M-39 highway.
The Ministry noted that there are casualties and victims in the result of the accident. The victims received necessary medical assistance. The Ministry did not announce number of victims.
Rescuers are working on liquidation of consequences of the landslide at the scene of the accident.
