Labour protection issues discussed in Tashkent

Representatives of Uzbekistan Trade Unions Federation, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Uzbekistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Bukhara regional administration and others participated in the event.

At the event, the presentation of general review of practice on introduction of national and international labour standards, and recommendations on further improving work of social partners on protection of labour in agriculture sector was held.

International experts underlined that the economy of Uzbekistan is growing and agriculture sector is diversifying and production of fruits and vegetables is expanding. The farmers of Uzbekistan pay great attention to labour standards, providing food to employers, etc.

The ILO experts underlined that high awareness on national and international labour standards, including the ILO Convention, among officials, farmers, staff of educational and medical institutions, population, including children.

Work on improving knowledge of population via hotline and providing legal services via Legal Clinic was highly rated.
