Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan Boost Cooperation on Migration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 March 2026, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Kanat Sagynbaev held a working meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kyrgyzstan Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, the ministry’s press service reported.

The parties discussed ways to further develop bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration and social policy, including employment issues, improving social protection systems, and training qualified specialists.

Ambassador Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev invited Minister Kanat Sagynbaev to visit Uzbekistan on a working trip to familiarize himself with the country’s practical experience and advance the agreements outlined in the Protocol of Intent between the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan.

The protocol was signed on 18 July 2024, in Tashkent.

Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue strengthening bilateral ties, exchange experience, and expand cooperation in labor migration and social protection.
