Kremlin: President of Uzbekistan to attend 80th anniversary of victory in World War II events in Moscow
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the commemorative events in Moscow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, according to the Kremlin press service.
Earlier, on 3 May, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a phone conversation during which they discussed pressing issues of bilateral cooperation, including practical measures to further strengthen trade and economic ties. Notably, they highlighted the successful organization of the 5th International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia,” held in Tashkent from 28 to 30 April.
According to the Kremlin, in the context of the upcoming celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, both sides emphasized the special significance of this date for the peoples of Russia and Uzbekistan. President Mirziyoyev confirmed his participation in the anniversary events in Moscow.
