Krasnodar International Airport Receives First Flight from Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Krasnodar International Airport welcomed its first Uzbekistan Airways flight from Tashkent, marking the airline as the first foreign carrier to resume operations following the airport’s reopening.

The Airbus A321neo, carrying 118 passengers, arrived on 26 October and was greeted with the traditional water cannon salute. Guests were welcomed in the international terminal with a festive atmosphere and presented with souvenirs and gifts. The first registered passenger, Leman Ametov, received a certificate granting access to the business lounge.

The return flight departed with 169 passengers on board. In its winter schedule, Uzbekistan Airways plans to launch a second route to Namangan, with the inaugural flight on 28 October. Flights to Tashkent will operate three times a week — on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays — departing at 10:30 with a flight time of approximately 3 hours and 35 minutes. Flights to Namangan are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, also departing at 10:30.

Alexander Nikonov, Commercial Director of Aerodinamika Group, noted that Uzbekistan Airways’ return to Krasnodar strengthens international air connectivity in the region and promotes cultural and business ties between Russia and Uzbekistan. For now, Uzbekistan Airways remains the sole operator on these routes, but similar flights to Uzbekistan, including Tashkent and Samarkand, are planned to be operated by Azimut Airlines.
