"Kongil kozi": over 3,000 blind and visually impaired children to undergo medical examination

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Practical work on the examination of blind and visually impaired children began on 29 December, within the framework of the Kongil kozi campaign, more than 3,000 blind and visually impaired children will undergo medical examination as part of the New Year’s charity event.

The project participants visited the Republican Ophthalmological Hospital in Nukus and studied how a mobile laboratory for medical examination works, how operating rooms and other premises are equipped, and what are the possibilities of telemedicine.

Today, doctors examined 14 children and found that 6 of them can improve their eyesight. One child was operated on and his vision was restored by 20%.

“We are announcing a campaign for all students of specialized boarding schools. From our side, assistance will be provided to every child who, according to the results of the examination, reveals that vision can be improved,” said Saida Mirziyoyev in her Telegram channel.

The charity project "Kongil kozi" began its implementation in March 2019. It is aimed at creating favorable conditions for education, intellectual and spiritual development of blind and visually impaired children, as well as their further adaptation in life and society.
