Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 August 2022, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), an official agency responsible for the Korean government’s grant aid program, and the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute signed a Record of Discussions (R/D) for the implementation of KOICA’s new project titled “Project for Education and Research Capacity Empowerment for Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute (TashPMI)”.
This new 5-year project (2022-2027), with a budget of US$5.0 million, aims to secure the qualitative growth of health care by strengthening the educational and research capabilities of the medical personnel of TashPMI.
To achieve the project objectives, Korea and Uzbekistan plan to strengthen cooperation in improving medical education curriculum and evaluation system, improving nursing education curriculum, enhancing TashPMI’s research capacity and industry-academic cooperation capability.
The Rector of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, Doctor of Medicine Professor Daminov B.T. thanked KOICA agency for the fruitful cooperation and expressed his readiness for collaboration in scientific and educational spheres with medical schools and institutions of South Korea. Professor Daminov expressed a hope that the project will yield high results in the training of professors and medical personnel of TashPMI.
KOICA Uzbekistan Office Director Ms. Park Sunjin extended her gratitude for the active cooperation of the Uzbek side and stated her confidence that this project will contribute to the improvement of the health sector in Uzbekistan and further strengthen partnership between Korea and Uzbekistan.
