Knauf reinvests 2.2 million euros in the production of gypsum mixtures

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – KNAUF GIPS BUKHARA LLC decided to increase the production of gypsum mixtures in Uzbekistan. To this end, the company’s investment program for 2019-2020 included the construction of a second gypsum plant and an additional line of gypsum mixtures.

The decision to increase the production capacity of the Bukhara plant was made in connection with the increasing demand for Knauf plaster and putty. For modernization, equipment of European and Russian manufacturers was used.

“In 2019, KNAUF sold 110 thousand tons of gypsum mixtures, which is 29% more than in 2018. Analysts predict that this year, sales will reach 130 thousand tons. In order to cover the growing demand for quality materials, we decided to reinvest 2.2 million euros in the production of gypsum mixtures in Uzbekistan. To date, the amount of 1.3 million euros has already been disbursed.

Also in the coming months, KNAUF plans to change the packaging design of the Rotband plaster. One of the reasons is that Knauf, as a foreign investor, suffers from fakes. The current penalties are not able to stop the violation of intellectual property rights,” Dmitry Deripalko, general director of KNAUF enterprises in Uzbekistan shared his plans.

The second gypsum production was commissioned at the end of 2019. The launch of an additional line of dry mixes is scheduled for August 2020. The modernization made will increase the production of KNAUF plasters and putties to 200 thousand tons per year.
