Khorezm region leads fish catch in Uzbekistan in 2024
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan caught a total of 191.4 thousand tons of fish in 2024, according to the Statistics Agency.
The leader in fish production was Khorezm region, which accounted for 32.9 thousand tons, representing 17.2% of the total catch in the country.
Other regions with high production levels included Andijan (21.7 thousand tons), Samarkand (19.9 thousand tons), and Tashkent (19.1 thousand tons). At the bottom of the list are the regions with the smallest catches — Kashkadarya (4.4 thousand tons) and Bukhara (6.2 thousand tons).

Experts note that the high fish catch in Khorezm is attributed to favorable natural conditions, a well-developed infrastructure for fisheries, and significant investments in the industry. The authorities continue to support the fishing industry, which contributes to its further development.
