Khokim of Tashkent city holds a meeting with heads of Russian Sovcombank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on the third of December, a meeting with the heads of the Russian Sovcombank was held at the Tashkent city khokimiyat.

Khokim of Tashkent city Jahongir Artikkhodjaev greeted the guests, spoke about the development of Tashkent, as well as about promising projects for investors.

The head of the Russian delegation, the first deputy chairman of the bank’s board Sergei Khotimskiy thanked for the warm welcome and briefly spoke about the bank’s activities. Sovcombank is the third bank in Russia with an asset of US$20 billion. Sovcombank Group was the second most profitable banking group in Russia with an average return on equity (ROE) over the past ten years (2010-2019) of 44%, according to the Group’s calculations based on published IFRS statements. The bank’s bonds were placed among 57 large clients. The bank operates in Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The bank’s management, Sergey Khotimsky noted, is interested in strategic partnership and considers cooperation with Uzbekistan, in particular, with Tashkent, promising. He also inquired about the reasons for the growth of business activity in Uzbekistan in recent years, to which he received a detailed and comprehensive answer from the representatives of the khokimiyat.

Following the meeting, the parties thanked each other for the detailed information provided, Sergei Khotimskiy also emphasized interest in transformations in Tashkent and announced the decision to instruct the bank’s experts to work out specific areas of cooperation.
