Khokim of Samarkand region fired from his post

Himmat Okbutaev was dismissed from his position “for serious shortcomings and omissions during his activities at this post”.

On 12 June, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the situation in Samarkand region at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in an expanded format.

As reported earlier, Uzbek leader visited the region on June 10. Okbutaev failed to ensure effective construction of facilities, attraction of investments and export of products.

It should be noted that Okbutayev was appointed to the post of khokim of Samarkand region in December 2016.
