Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Khokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Saliev held a meeting with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
As part of the visit of the President of Tatarstan, it is planned to open a branch of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) in the Jizzakh region.
Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for the implementation of the project. “I am convinced that the graduates of this university will become a reliable support for Uzbekistan in the near future and will contribute to its development,” the President of the Republic of Tatarstan added.
Khokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Saliev thanked Minnikhanov for building business relations between the republic and the region and named the most promising areas for cooperation. “There is potential for the growth of mutual trade. This includes mechanical engineering and the agro-industrial complex. The tourism sector deserves special attention,” said Saliev.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with Uzbekistan in such areas as mechanical engineering and aircraft building. Representatives of enterprises of Tatarstan are planning to hold meetings with the business circles of Uzbekistan, he added.
“Uzbekistan is a dynamically developing economy with great growth potential. And we have many promising projects that could be useful for the development of both Uzbekistan and Tatarstan,” the President of Tatarstan noted.
