Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11-12 May 2022, the city of Khiva will host the ninth meeting of transport ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During this event, organized within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the SCO summit, issues related to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of transport, developing and diversifying transport corridors, and effectively using existing opportunities in this direction will be discussed.

In particular, taking into account the fact that the development of regional transport and transit potential is one of the important factors for the sustainable economic growth of the SCO countries, the issues of creating a large-scale and integral transport system, further developing trade and economic relations through the introduction of modern digital technologies, increasing the volume of freight traffic, the formation of common views and approaches to the improvement of transport communications will be considered.
