Khiva and Shakhrisabz became cities of regional subordination

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan considered issues on changing the borders of the city of Khiva and Khiva district of Khorezm region and transferring the city of Khiva to the category of cities of regional subordination, transferring the city of Shakhrisabz to the category of cities of regional subordination, and also about changing borders of Zaamin and Zarbdar districts of Jizzakh region.

Senators noted that the approval of these proposals of the government of the country will contribute to improvement of administrative and territorial structure of the Jizzakh, Kashkadarya and Khorezm regions, compactness of the territories and the effective management of them, further improving living conditions of local population, and will stimulate the further dynamic development of the tourist sphere.
