Khalil Alkhalaf: “Uzbekistan is very attractive for investment today”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzcharmsanoat Association held a meeting with an investor from Saudi Arabia, Khalil Alkhalaf. The topic of negotiations was attracting investments to Uzbekistan and an initiative to create a new enterprise for the leather and footwear industry in our country.

“There is stability in Uzbekistan, today it is very important. A lot of work has been done to liberalize the foreign exchange market, a good transport and logistics system. Uzbekistan today is very attractive for investments,” the guest noted. These factors and the large state support for business in Uzbekistan inspire investors to new projects. One of them concerns the production of shoes.

The guest was interested in the small industrial zones of the leather and footwear industry being created in our country. Created by a presidential decree, such specialized territories will have all the proper infrastructure and the necessary engineering communications. Another significant "plus" - the concentration in one place of different capacities of one industry will reduce the time and cost of transporting raw materials and components for production.

The investor was also presented with the available ready-made production facilities. During the negotiations, it was decided to organize a working trip to the Fergana region, where the guest will be able to personally assess the conditions for running a shoe business.

Another project that Khalil Alkhalaf plans to place in Uzbekistan is the production of catgut suture materials. There are no such enterprises in the country, but there is a sufficient amount of raw materials, which guarantees the success of the project. This project will also be further elaborated.
