Karakalpakstan to prepare 29,200 tonnes of fruits, vegetables to winter

Karakalpakstan is carrying out work on implementation of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan “On measures on developing and strengthening material-technical base of storing fruit and vegetable products for 2011-2015” from 7 April 2011.
In line with the resolution, it is planned to implement 21 projects on modernization of nine cold storages and construction of 12 new storages with the capacity of 9,900 tonnes in 2011-2015.
Currently, twelve cold storages with the capacity of 7,120 tonnes have been commissioned in Karakalpakstan, UzA reported.
Karakalpakstan will prepare 29,200 tonnes of fruits and vegetables for winter period of 2013-2014. Currently, 21,111 tonnes of fruits and vegetables were prepared.
The work on storing rice, fruits, vegetables, melons and other agriculture products for winter period is underway.
