Karakalpakstan to Build Road and Bridge over Amudarya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new 2.2 km road and bridge over the Amudarya River will soon be constructed in Karakalpakstan, connecting Nukus with the Takhiytash district to reduce traffic congestion.

On the Nukus–Chimbay–Takhtakupir (D234) route, spanning 4 km, a flyover is also planned.

These projects are part of the socio-economic development programs for the region in 2026 and beyond, approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Additionally, plans include the reconstruction of 31 km of roads in the Shumanay district, renovation of 110.5 km of roads in the Amudarya district, and the construction of 107 km of water pipelines, a pumping station, and a local treatment facility.

Other infrastructure initiatives include 89.8 km of water pipelines and two distribution facilities in the Takhiytash district; 389.3 km of pipelines and three distribution facilities in the Turtkul district; 35.7 km of sewage networks and five treatment plants in Bustan; and 35 km of sewage networks and four treatment plants in the city of Beruni.

These projects aim to improve transport and utility infrastructure, ensure reliable water supply, and enhance the quality of life for local residents.
