Karakalpakstan to boost silk production

Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported that the cost of the project is estimated at the size of 7.744 billion soums.

Five processing plants are participating in the project. They created firms, which will construct production objects and will produce silk cocoons.

Some 800 million soums of investments were utilized within the first stage of the projects. About 60 hectares of land were allocated to creation of mulberry trees plantation.

Uzpakhtasanoat created two working groups, who will visit China and Vietnam in near future to study their experience in creation of mulberry trees plantation.
