Karachi and Tashkent open new horizons for joint projects in the textile and pharmaceutical sectors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 January 2025, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vahabov, and the Vice President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zia Ulom Afrin.

The meeting focused on establishing mutually beneficial cooperation between entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as the implementation of joint projects and the identification of promising areas for collaboration.

Karachi is Pakistan’s largest city and a major economic center of the country. The city is actively developing industries such as textiles, food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, and machinery. Karachi plays a significant role in international trade, with its port having an annual capacity to handle 15 million tons of cargo.

After the meeting, a roundtable was organized with the participation of representatives from the business community of Karachi. The participants discussed opportunities for collaboration in sectors such as textiles, leather, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and agriculture.

As a result of the meeting and roundtable, the parties reached a number of agreements on implementing new initiatives, sharing experiences, and carrying out promising projects between entrepreneurs from both countries.
