Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 April 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which was held in Moscow.
The heads of the foreign affairs agencies discussed topical issues of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the CIS and prospects for the development of interaction between the participating states, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Uzbek delegation stressed that over the past two years, Uzbekistan has significantly intensified its activities in the CIS format and is now fully participating in the work of some 50 sectoral bodies of the Commonwealth. In the capacity of the CIS co-chairing state, the Uzbek side this year holds 7 sectoral bodies on its territory.
The ministers adopted the Appeal on the need to preserve and properly care for military graves and military monuments of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the Action Program for enhancing partnership between the foreign affairs agencies of the CIS member states and other decisions aimed at deepening multilateral cooperation in various fields.
The next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will be held in Ashgabat.
