Kamilov and Mordue consider topical issues of Uzbek-European cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 November 2021, in Brussels, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the chief foreign policy adviser to the President of the European Council Simon Mordue. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, topical issues of Uzbek-European cooperation in areas of mutual interest were considered.

The importance of enhancing interaction through intensifying political dialogue, developing inter-parliamentary contacts, accelerating the negotiation process on an Agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, coordinating efforts in the security sphere, as well as expanding interregional ties was noted.

An exchange of views took place on the schedule of upcoming events in the formats "Uzbekistan - EU" and "EU - Central Asia".

Special attention was paid to the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on regional security. A common opinion was expressed about the need to consolidate the efforts of the world community to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
