Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 22 November, a meeting was held with the delegation of Azerbaijan, which included representatives of Socar, Socar Trading and Chemtrade LLC. This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Energy.
The Uzbek side was represented by the First Deputy Minister of Energy, as well as members of the management of Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Uzkhimprom JSC.
The parties discussed the creation of a joint venture focused on the export of chemical and petrochemical products in the European direction.
These plans are being implemented in accordance with the agreements reached during the meeting of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev, in the framework of the meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states (on 15 October 2019, Baku).
During the meeting, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, chief manager for marketing and sales of the Socar Trading petrochemicals department of the company, Rufat Khibli, also expressed interest in the supply of hydrocarbons to oil refineries in Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation and signing of the Protocol of Intent, as well as the Road Map for the establishment of a joint venture between SOCAR, Uzbekneftegaz and Uzkhimprom, which will export chemical, petrochemical products and fertilizers to European markets.
