Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission.
Welcoming the guest, Vladimir Norov noted the personal contribution of the Ambassador to the strengthening of Uzbek-Japanese relations.
Yoshinori Fujiyama said that during the period of his work he witnessed large-scale reforms that contributed to its dynamic progress of the republic. The Japanese side fully supports the course of reforms in the country and is ready to assist in the further implementation of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy.
It was noted that the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019 opened a new page in the history of bilateral relations. An active dialogue is maintained at the highest level, and the positive dynamics of exchanges between parliaments, governments, ministries and departments, banking, financial and business circles is maintained.
The importance of continuing productive consultations at the level of the foreign ministries of the two countries, the effective use of the established mechanisms for interaction in the trade and economic sphere, and holding cultural and humanitarian events was emphasized.
Yoshinori Fujiyama expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for all-round support and favorable conditions created for the implementation of his diplomatic activities in the country, assuring that regardless of his position, he would remain a close friend of Uzbekistan.
