Japan opens labor market for Uzbek drivers for the first time
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of the Agency for External Labor Migration held a meeting with the leadership of the Japanese company Shimizu Corporation.
Shimizu Corporation is one of Japan's largest construction companies, founded in 1804. Its annual turnover is around US$15 billion. The company's main areas of activity include construction, architecture, engineering, and design.
Currently, approximately 150 citizens of Uzbekistan are temporarily employed at the company in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to expand the employment project for Uzbeks across Japan, increase the number of workers accepted, and signed a memorandum of cooperation.
