IVECO BUS Launches Local Minibus Production in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — IVECO BUS is expanding its presence in Uzbekistan through two strategic agreements covering local production of DAILY minibuses via a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) scheme and national distribution of the brand’s full portfolio.

Local assembly, in partnership with Asaka Motors International LLC, is scheduled to start in May 2026. Distribution will be handled by ASAKA EFVI TRUCK AND BUS JV LLC. The partners aim to sell 500 units in the first year, scaling production to 1,000 units annually over the next three years.

The CKD project represents a major step in Uzbekistan’s industrial sovereignty. It will create new jobs, provide technical training, and transfer skills within the automotive sector. Local production will strengthen the national industrial ecosystem and support IVECO BUS’s long-term sustainable mobility strategy.

The program will initially focus on the DAILY minibus lineup, including diesel and electric versions. Combining IVECO BUS engineering expertise with local manufacturing capabilities is expected to provide competitive total cost of ownership, reliable after-sales service, and optimized delivery times.

The minibuses are designed for diverse market needs, including urban and intercity passenger transport, corporate and institutional fleets, tourism routes, and shuttle services. IVECO BUS plans to gradually roll out electric DAILY versions and is exploring zero-emission bus options to support Uzbekistan’s environmental goals and pilot projects for modernizing urban passenger mobility.

“These agreements are a significant step in our international growth strategy. Local CKD production and a robust distribution network provide a strong foundation for long-term development in Central Asia,” said Sasha Kene.

Avazbek Jalilov added that cooperation with IVECO BUS strengthens domestic production capabilities and supports modernization of the country’s passenger transport sector.
