Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 13 January, a meeting was held at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" on preparations for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2022. This was reported by the press service of the Main Department for Tourism and Sports of Samarkand region.

It was attended by the heads of higher educational institutions located in the city of Samarkand, senior officials of the Main Department of Tourism and Sports of the region, as well as scientists and specialists. The meeting was held by the deputy khokim of the region Rustam Kobilov.

During the meeting, the issues of holding the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand, which enjoys great authority and respect in the world community, as well as the impeccable preparation of the tourism infrastructure for the upcoming summit, the formation of hotels, catering enterprises serving participants and guests of the international conference, as well as groups of volunteers and translators, their education and training were considered.

For each direction, working groups have been formed, which are assigned specific tasks. In particular, measures have been identified to improve the professional skills of service workers, thoroughly train interpreters to communicate in the official languages of the SCO, provide educational and methodological assistance to guide-interpreters to provide them with complete information about the cultural heritage and modern achievements of our city and country.
