Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As part of the participation of the delegation of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the 143rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Madrid, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop.

The meeting participants discussed issues of cooperation and expansion of practical interaction of inter-parliamentary ties.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mustafa Sentop congratulated on the successful holding of the presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Mustafa Sentop noted that the parliaments have set clear goals for themselves to strengthen the foundations of bilateral relations. “This will contribute to the further development of interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries. We will pay special attention to the contribution that we can make to the provision of the legal basis for the development of trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties. For this we are ready to actively use the opportunities of friendship groups and inter-parliamentary ties.”

The parties stressed that the task of the parliaments of the two countries is to provide legislative support for all agreements reached at the highest level, and to keep up with the pace of contacts and interaction demonstrated by the leaders of states.
