Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to expand trade and economic ties with the regions of Japan, as well as part of the work to promote economic diplomacy, a business trip was made to Osaka. This was reported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo.
During the trip, negotiations were held with the leadership of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the KANKEIREN Economic Federation.
During negotiations with the President of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsutomo Miyagi, the possibilities and prospects for bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan were discussed, in particular with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the organization of "business seminars", the presentation of investment projects, as well as the organization of mutual visits of business circles of the two countries .
Chairman of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry T. Miyagi expressed his readiness to establish cooperation and establish long-term relations between Uzbekistan and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. T. Miyagi also spoke about the preparations for the international exhibition "OSAKA EXPO 2025", welcomed the decision of Uzbekistan to participate in the exhibition and assured of providing all necessary assistance in organizing the worthy participation of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the exhibition.
In accordance with the program, negotiations were held with the Deputy Chairman of the Economic Federation "KANKEIREN" Kiyoshi Otsuboi. During the meeting, K. Otsuba got acquainted with the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, created a favorable investment climate and business conditions. As a result, the organization supported the continuation of joint events, including business trips, "business seminars" and events to promote the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan for members of KANKEIREN.
Gratitude was also expressed to KANKEIREN for their support in organizing an investment business forum and a briefing in Osaka on the decision of the Cotton Campaign International Coalition to cancel the global boycott of Uzbek cotton.
For his part, K. Otsuba expressed full support for the organization in expanding economic and trade ties between Uzbekistan and the business community of the Kansai region, including in the course of preparations for participation in the international exhibition OSAKA EXPO 2025.
In addition, the decision of the International Coalition Cotton Campaign to cancel the global boycott of Uzbek cotton, as well as the work done in this direction, was brought to the attention of the leadership of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Economic Federation "KANKEIREN". In particular, it was told about the coordinated and systematic work done to implement the “Roadmap of Reforms” developed by the Government of Uzbekistan to end forced labor in the cotton industry and ensure the effectiveness of ongoing reforms.
The attention of Japanese partners was drawn to the fact that the abolition of the cotton boycott will contribute to an increase in the volume of exports of Uzbekistan’s products to foreign countries by 1,196 Uzbek textile enterprises, incl. Japan and the creation of new jobs in the republic, as well as improving the welfare of Uzbek farmers.
