Issues of early resumption of the investment project with the participation of Japanese companies discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 20 August 2020, a meeting was held in the format of a videoconference with the senior vice president of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering, Ltd. Hiroetsu Suzuki and general manager for EPC projects of Mitsubishi Corporation Yasunori Sakamoto with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of Uzkimyosanot Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov.

During the negotiations, the issue of the earliest possible resumption of start-up and adjustment works was discussed within the framework of the joint project for the construction of a plant for the production of ammonia and urea at Navoiazot JSC.

The Japanese side were again informed of detailed information about a significant improvement in the situation with coronavirus in Uzbekistan, including in Navoi region, as well as the drastic measures taken by the Government of the republic to counter the spread of infection.

H. Suzuki expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for constant support in the implementation of projects in the country, in particular for the readiness of the Uzbek side to create all the necessary conditions for the early resumption of the project to build a plant for the production of ammonia and urea in Navoi region in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

An agreement was reached to continue to maintain close contacts and speed up the process of sending foreign specialists to construction sites.
