Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Health Minister Amrillo Inoyatov held a meeting on the current state of reforms in medicine and other important tasks in the field.

The videoconference, which was held in a critical and analytical spirit, was attended by senior officials of the central office of the ministry, heads of structures, heads of regional departments, chief physicians of district and city medical associations of health.

The first item on the agenda was personnel policy and performance discipline.

It was noted that modern medicine cannot be imagined without information technology. Therefore, the head of state pays special attention to the digitalization of the sphere, the widespread introduction of electronic technologies in the activities of medical institutions.

Through this, it is planned to provide emergency and high-quality medical services to the population, further improve the sphere, create acceptable conditions for medical staff and patients.

In particular, on the basis of the resolution of the President "On measures for the effective organization of digitalization in the field of healthcare" from 23 February 2021, IT-Med LLC was established under the foundation of the Ministry, which was appointed responsible for the implementation of a single complex of information technologies "Electronic Health".

However, over the past period, work in this direction has not been organized at a sufficient level. Information technologies have not been introduced into the activities of medical institutions at the required level. As a result, the implementation of a number of important tasks set by the head of state regarding the operation of the system was not ensured.

At the meeting, the minister, dwelling on these issues, noted that the leading personnel managing IT-Med lack knowledge and potential, initiative, responsibility, professional and creative approach to the problems inherent in a modern leader. He stressed that the root of the problem is precisely in this and subjected the activities of this structure to serious criticism.

Based on this, the head of the institution, Artur Khakimov, was relieved of his post for admitting a number of shortcomings in the activities.

Also at the meeting, the minister touched upon the issue of providing the population with high-quality and safe medicines and medical supplies, and expressed very critical opinions about the pressing problems in this direction.

As a result, a new head of the State Unitary Enterprise "State Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medicines, Medical Devices and Medical Equipment" under the ministry responsible for this area was appointed.

It is entrusted with the tasks of creating a transparent system in this direction, introducing international standards and high-tech laboratories into the industry, raising the sphere of the country’s formation to a new level, improving the qualifications of the center’s personnel to the level of world standards, forming a team consisting of competent and experienced specialists related to his work in good faith.

The meeting also appointed new heads of the department for the development of health infrastructure, their operation and transport accounting and the department for the development of public-private partnerships. They are entrusted with the task of establishing work in this direction on the basis of a completely new system in the shortest possible time.
