Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit for negotiations with government and business circles of the country.
During the meeting, issues of the Uzbek-Russian partnership in the investment, trade, economic, industrial, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as measures to deepen cooperation between Tatarstan and the regions of Uzbekistan were discussed.
The systematic nature of the implementation of the agreements reached earlier and broad prospects for expanding cooperation in priority areas were noted. Bilateral relations between Tatarstan and the regions of Uzbekistan are dynamically developing in such areas as industry, trade, culture, education, urban improvement, youth policy and sports.
Further steps were considered to deepen cooperation and cooperation in the automotive industry, the production of special equipment and auto parts, the advanced processing of hydrocarbons, small-tonnage chemistry and the production of medical equipment. An agreement was reached to continue the dialogue with Tatarstan companies in order to reach specific agreements on the implementation of new projects.
The parties welcomed the launch of the construction of the Chirchik chemical-industrial technopark, which was being created in partnership with the Kazan Technopolis Khimgrad, which took place earlier on the same day, noting that this step is a breakthrough in cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation. It was announced that, as of the current moment, potential investors have already submitted proposals for the implementation of projects totaling about US$200 million, and the commissioning of the first industrial facilities on the territory of the technopark is planned to be completed before the end of this year.
An agreement was reached on organizing a visit of a delegation of the management of the Chirchik technopark to Tatarstan to conduct a road show aimed at attracting Tatarstan investors and manufacturers to the implementation of joint projects.
As a result of the meeting, further actions were discussed for the practical implementation of the agreements reached and agreed initiatives.
