Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31 May this year, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev met with Roli Asthana, Coordinator of the UN Office in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation. During the conversation, it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and the UN are developing.

In particular, Safoev noted that specific measures have been developed in the republic aimed at implementing the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN, special attention is paid to their implementation, in this regard, on the initiative of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, in 2021, Bukhara hosted the international forum "Global Inter-Parliamentary cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals”.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to raise cooperation to a new level.
