Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to attract foreign investment and expand economic ties, negotiations were held with leading Japanese companies, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan with representatives of Dai Nippon Printing Co. Dai Nippon Printing or DNP was founded in 1876 and is a Japanese printing company. The company is engaged in printing in three areas: information communications, household and industrial products, and electronics. The company is involved in a wide range of printing processes ranging from magazines to shadow masks for display production, ID cards, as well as expansion structures for LCDs and diffusers for display backlights. The company employs more than 35 thousand people. The company also operates "Honto.jp", a "hybrid" online bookstore that sells both print and digital books. The company has sales of over US$10 billion and has 61 manufacturing plants, 38 sales offices in Japan, and 15 factories, 26 sales offices and representative offices in 16 countries. The company has more than 30 thousand customers, including the leading Japanese companies SONY, Uniqlo, NTT, ASAHI, SoftBank, 7&Eleven, Toyota and others.
During the negotiations, the representatives of the company were presented with the economic and investment potential of the republic, the created favorable tax incentives, the activities of free economic zones, the ongoing work on the digitalization of economic sectors, the public sector and public services, the development of the market for card payment systems, as well as the introduction of ID-cards, driver’s licenses. Taking into account the specifics of the company for the production of high-quality printers for printing ID-cards, bank cards, issues of developing cooperation in this area were discussed, taking into account the company’s existing experience.
According to the company, the developed CX-D80 ID card printers are internationally recognized and use "dye sublimation" and "thermal retransfer" methods, which ensures high-security system, image quality and color gamut.
To date, the company has a market share of credit cards - 60%, national ID-cards - 67%, branded debit cards and prepaid cards - 89%, driver’s licenses - 70%, electronic money cards - 36%, wire transfer cards - 54 %.
The company also presented its developments for the introduction of smart cards, which are No. 1 in Japan and occupy more than 45% of the market, and transport IC cards, of which more than 80 million have been produced since 2001. Particular attention was drawn to polycarbonate cards for passports, national ID-cards and driver’s licenses, which do not delaminate, have a high degree of security, laser engraving and holograms. In addition, the company presented its products for the implementation of holograms, in the market of which it has been operating for more than 45 years.
The company also shared its experience in implementing certificates and registration cards of foreigners in South Korea, driver’s licenses in Malaysia, social security cards in China, etc. Representatives of the company expressed their intention to work in these areas in Uzbekistan.
