Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to discuss issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan to assist Afghanistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan held a meeting with the Special Representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry for Afghanistan and Pakistan K. During the negotiations, the Japanese side was informed of the results of meetings of representatives of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, which was held on2 February 2021 in Tashkent.
It was noted that the Road Map signed during this trilateral meeting for the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway is intended to contribute to the development of Afghanistan and the expansion of mutually beneficial interregional cooperation between Central and South Asia.
During the meeting with K. Takahashi, they also exchanged views on the possibilities of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan to promote the socio-economic development of Afghanistan.
