ISMI experts and military diplomats of Uzbekistan agreed to deepen mutual cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 21 December, a meeting was held at the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISMI) with military attachés accredited at the embassies of Uzbekistan abroad.

During the event, the First Deputy Director of ISMI Akramjon Nematov made an analytical review of the current situation in the world and the region, the situation in Afghanistan, the role of Uzbekistan in the ongoing processes.

Special attention was focused on the issues of ensuring information, energy and food security, which exacerbate the numerous challenges and threats to the sustainable development of Uzbekistan and the states of the Central Asian region.

During the conversation, the participants considered the essence and significance of the initiatives of the head of our state, voiced at various international platforms, aimed at ensuring security, strengthening confidence-building measures and deepening multilateral cooperation in the world and the region.

The “Samarkand Initiative of Solidarity for the Sake of Common Security and Prosperity”, put forward by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the SCO summit in September 2022, the main goal of which is the progressive restoration of trust through the involvement of all interested states in the global inter-civilizational dialogue, the search for agreed approaches, is considered in more detail and deeply. and decisions, removal of global tension, uncertainty and unpredictability.

This is what actualizes the relevance and exceptional importance of the Samarkand initiative in the current conditions of geopolitical rivalry, ideological contradictions and disputes.

Following a constructive dialogue, the meeting participants agreed to strengthen joint analytical work in areas of mutual interest, including security issues, military and military-technical cooperation, and the prompt exchange of significant information.
