Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks with Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong.
During the conversation, the efforts of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China for the peaceful settlement of the Afghan crisis, the speedy provision of humanitarian and other assistance to the country were discussed.
The sides highly appreciated the policy of the leadership of Uzbekistan to further strengthen and develop the Uzbek-Chinese cooperation, including in the Afghan direction.
The parties indicated that without the development of a consolidated position of the world community in relation to the new authorities of Afghanistan, it would be impossible to resolve the acute social and humanitarian crisis, as well as to promote the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the country.
The importance of implementing various infrastructure projects in the energy, transport and logistics sectors in Afghanistan was noted.
Mutual interest was expressed in continuing consultations on the Afghan issue at the level of special representatives of Uzbekistan and China.
