Iraq U16 team suspension upheld

Iraq was suspended by the disciplinary committee for fielding an ineligible player in the AFC U-16 Championship Qualification match against Saudi Arabia on 7 November 2007.

Iraq goalkeeper Ahemd Ali Muhi Al Turfa was registered in both editions of AFC U-16 Championship 2006 Finals (Formerly known as AFC U-17 Championship) and 2007 qualifiers edition thus resulting in violation of article 26(f) of the competition Regulations.

The AFC U-16 Championship 2008 finals will be held in Uzbekistan from 4-19 October, 2008.
