Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Iran may receive the status of a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) within the organization’s summit in Samarkand.
“One of the main topics of the Samarkand summit is the issue of expanding the SCO family. As part of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State, it is expected to sign a memorandum of obligations for Iran to obtain the status of a member of the SCO,” said Press Secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.
According to him, more than 30 documents are expected to be submitted for signing at the SCO summit.
