Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 July 2020, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov took part in the international video conference “Eliminate the digital split: a digital response to COVID-19”.

The event was attended by senior representatives of foreign affairs agencies of more than 40 countries, First Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, Director of the Telecommunication Development Sector of the International Telecommunication Union Dorin Bogdan-Martin, Director General of the Smart Africa Alliance Latsina Kone.

The videoconference participants exchanged views on preventing the economic and social consequences of coronavirus infection, discussed ways to use innovative digital solutions to jointly build a strong society that can withstand difficult social, economic and political disasters.

As a result of the event, the “Global Declaration on Digital Response to COVID-19” was adopted.
