International Tourism Forum “Uzbekistan – Qatar” Held in Doha
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 July 2025, the international tourism forum “Uzbekistan – Qatar” took place in Doha, State of Qatar. The event was organized by the Tourism Committee with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Qatar.
This forum served as an important platform for deepening bilateral cooperation, promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Arab countries, and strengthening business ties between representatives of the tourism industry.
The forum brought together officials from relevant ministries and agencies, leading tour operators, airlines, as well as investment and trade organizations from both countries. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Ashraf Khodjaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Qatar, and representatives of Qatar’s tourism sector. They emphasized the mutual interest in developing tourist exchanges and expressed readiness to expand cooperation.
During the forum, a presentation titled “Uzbekistan — the Pearl of the Silk Road” showcased the country’s tourism potential, UNESCO World Heritage sites, unique travel routes, infrastructure projects, and opportunities in pilgrimage, medical, gastronomic, and eco-tourism. Special attention was given to creating comfortable conditions for tourists from Arab countries.
Bilateral B2B and G2B meetings attracted great interest, enabling direct contacts between tourism companies and discussions on promoting tourism products. Agreements were reached to organize promotional tours to Uzbekistan for Qatari tour operators and media representatives.
A cultural presentation exhibition was organized for the general public, featuring photographs of Uzbekistan’s natural and architectural landmarks, traditional handicrafts, and tastings of Uzbek national cuisine.
The “Uzbekistan – Qatar” forum confirmed the growing interest of the Qatari audience in Uzbekistan and opened new opportunities for sustainable partnerships in the tourism sector. Such events contribute to promoting the national tourism product and strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
