International forum "Education in the new Uzbekistan: successful cooperation on the path of reforms" starts its work in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An international forum "Education in the new Uzbekistan: successful cooperation on the path of reforms" organized by the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions in cooperation with international partner organizations began its work today in Tashkent at the Palace of International Forums "Uzbekistan".

The welcoming address addressed to the participants of the forum by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was read on his behalf by the State Adviser for the Development of Science, Education, Healthcare and Sports Abdujabbor Abduvakhitov.

The purpose of this forum is:

- development of global education;

- bringing the quality of education to a new level;

- discussion of urgent tasks and issues in a direct and open dialogue on the way to mutual cooperation;

- creating opportunities for students to study and practice on the basis of joint programs;

- professional development of teachers;

- exchange of educational and scientific literature;

- creating the basis for new partnerships.

Expected results from the Forum:

1. Participants will learn more about the reforms being carried out in the education system of Uzbekistan.

2. Detailed information will be provided on the education system in Presidential, creative and specialized schools under the Agency, and the work done, aimed at becoming the main "locomotive" of national reforms and the development of a modern system of quality education, will be discussed, the positive experience of schools, which must be applied to all secondary schools countries in the future.

3. Signing memorandums of cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Turkish Ministry of Education, Nottingham Trent University and TeamCoach International University. As a result, in the activities of the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions, specific areas of cooperation will be determined, solutions to existing problems in the field of education through the exchange of experience, and the effectiveness of the work carried out will be assessed.

4. Participants of the event will get acquainted with the University "New Uzbekistan", its activities, goals and objectives created by the conditions. This, in turn, will become the basis for attracting famous foreign and domestic scientists-professors, qualified teachers and staff, as well as foreign students to the university.

The Forum "Education in the New Uzbekistan: Successful Cooperation on the Path of Reforms" was held at the Palace of International Forums "Uzbekistan" in Tashkent. It was attended by international and domestic experts in the field of education, as well as government officials, including Adviser to the President on Youth, Science, Education, Healthcare and Sports - Abdujabbor Abduvakhidov, Director of the Agency - Khilola Umarova, Director of MIT J-WEL Vijay Kumar, Honorary President of the Technical University of Munich - Wolfgang Hermann, Head of Public Relations Cambridge Assessment - Megan Thomas and Chief Commercial Officer of Times Higher Education - Nick Davis.

For information, Wolfgang Anton Hermann is a popular German chemical scientist, since 2019 he is the honorary president of the Munich University of Technology. Herman worked at the universities of Regensburg and Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Wolfgang Herman is also an honorary rector of the New Uzbekistan University under the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions.

Professor Herman conducts research in the field of inorganic and organometallic chemistry. The aim of this study is to support the chemical synthesis of effective catalysts with a molecular structure, especially for industrial processes, and to understand and technically implement their mechanisms. Wolfgang Herrmann is the author of over 800 scientific articles and about 80 patents.

Herman is a member of many academic societies (Leopoldina, Acatech, Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering, Mainz Academy of Literature and Science) and holds honorary doctorates from 13 universities in Germany and other countries. He is one of the most talked about German chemists according to the ISI (International Scientific Index).

Vijay Kumar is the director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology J-Well. Mr. Vijay has worked for several prestigious organizations around the world. From his career:

- Learning Strategy Advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO);

- Advisor for the project "Digital Future" of the Smithsonian Institution, USA;

- Honorary Advisor to the National Education Commission of India;

- and also participated in the development of open educational resources, technologies and political strategies of UNESCO.

Steve King is Principal Education Adviser for Cambridge Assessment. Since 2018, he has been cooperating with the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of education.

It is known that Cambridge Assessment is one of the main foreign partners of the Presidential identity educational institutions.

During the meeting, the topic "Problems of global education and ways to solve them: foreign experience and integration" was discussed, including:

- The main factors of training in accordance with the requirements for modern specialists;

- Creation of high-quality educational conditions for gifted youth;

- Implementation of global educational innovations in our conditions;

- In the second half of the day, memorandums were signed between the Agency and the organizations with which cooperation relations have been established.

On the second day, 25 November, master classes will be held with the participation of qualified foreign specialists for teachers of the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions and the Ministry of Public Education.

On the same day, a plenary session was held for the Forum participants, during which topics such as foreign language teaching skills in the digital age, current problems of STEM implementation and future strategies were discussed.

During the day, interactive games were organized for the participants, certificates were awarded.
