Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is strengthening

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2021, a meeting was held between members of the chambers of the country’s parliament and deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It was noted that strengthening and expanding inter-parliamentary interaction will become a connecting link in the friendship between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the activities of the parliaments of the two countries, ongoing reforms, the use of legal mechanisms, in particular in legal proceedings, in terms of fulfilling alimony obligations, collecting alimony and other issues.

Natalya Nikitenko, Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement, Combating Crime and Combating Corruption of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan in politics, the improvement of legislation and the judicial sphere.

Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption Shukhrat Chulliev gave detailed information about legal proceedings in the country, law enforcement practice.

The participants also considered issues of ensuring gender equality, support for vulnerable groups of the population and others.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain a systematic dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries.
