Institute of democracy and human rights created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Institute of democracy and human rights has been created in Uzbekistan, Jahon news agency reported.

A presentation of new institute was held on 4 June within the roundtable “Development of parliamentary democracy in Uzbekistan: national experience and international practice”.

The goal of the institute is to develop democratic principles at the government bodies and public, promote protection of human rights, etc.

Sayyora Hodjaeva, director of the institute, said that it has been working since March 2015 and created as the NGO.

She said that the Institute has four branches in the regions. She added that the institute will contribute to protection of human rights.
